<I have questions, how did four planes get hijacked with the security supposedly in place at airports? Why didn't air traffic controllers notify appropriate military and law enforcement agencies? It is obvious they knew a hijacking had taken place.
Good question on the security. They had knives, not guns, and may have gotten them through maintenance instead of through security. And had the hijackings been reported, then what? Shoot down planes full of people? Judging by the actions of the aircraft, it was not clear they were going to run them into a building until the last few minutes of flight, when shooting them down would only have moved the ground casualties to different buildings.
And finaly, why didn't our Intellegence agencies know about this? I know for a fact how hard it is to penetrate a small tightly knit group of religious fanatics.
But, the resources required for this sort of action are large, cash for moving a significant number of people into position, and wait until the opportunity arises to deploy and act. Aircraft or simulators to train whoever flew the planes, false documents, the myriad sort of minute details that a covert action in hostile territory requires. That should have registered on someone's watch.
And lastly, I WANT SOME HEADS ON A F*******G PLATTER
Not just terrorists' head, I want whoever dropped the ball in the Intelligence community.
It's time to not be nice anymore, it's time to turn the black ops and SOG people loose.
These are the black ops people and intelligence people who had their balls surgically removed back when they were "abusing" their power in Central America and elsewhere. If we want them to get the job done, we need to let them do the job.
