Someone is minding his assets while he hides in Afghanistan. That is unless he has several trucks full of $100.00 bills and gold coins that he drags with him everywhere he goes.
Some wealthy bankers somewhere are protecting them. The intelligence agencies will need to exploit this corruption to ultimately destroy Bin Ladin. Hopefully they will take down all others who are profiting from Bin Ladin's attacks.
Its likely that it goes back to his family in Saudi Arabia and that puts the U.S. in a tough spot: Saudi Arabia is one of our few "friends" in the middle east. I fully expect the Bush Administration to pressure the Saudi's into giving up Bin Ladin's network of financial backing. If they don't do it, I expect that we may ultimately see another gulf war with only Israel on our side.
Either way, the political landscape will be turned upside down by this foolish and cowardly attack.
