For now, that's the best guideline we have. Will a lot of people readily surrender some of their freedoms in the hope of gaining a little more security? Undoubtedly. How much more will they surrender after the next time? You know good and well there will be a next time. It probably won't take the same form as these attacks but it will happen again. The war on terrorism has barely began.
