Re: Undoubtedly this will be sad all around

And I agree.....we must be very careful how this is handled. A show of strength right now is in order.
But is blind "justice?"
Perhaps we need to get better organized and serve our revenge cold, as Larry J says.

Too many weapons of destruction out there.......too many alliances and enemies, and none that want to be pushed into conflageration.

I find it difficult to hear the Americans cry that we shouldn't beat or terrorize our own arabic or islamic neighbours here in THIS country......yet it appears we are ready to demonize any country of these very same people who may be "harbouring these terrorists".

Threat?
Co-ercion?
Would getting Bin Laden satisfy us? Is it not his trained infidels we need?
How can you excise a cancer that has spread and is attacking it's host?

Scott said:
"The events were likely set in motion as much as 12 months ago by a foolish coward named Osama Bin Ladin. Those who protect him are just as guilty as he. "

Well, yes.
But who supported him in the first place and taught him all he knows?
Well, WE did (the CIA) in it's quest to fight Communism.
See this MSNBC article:

Now what we have here is a connundrum on a merry-go-round.
We change alliances like we change underwear depending on the whore we lie with.......
then we cast them off once their purpose has been served.

Hmmmmmmm...
Where is OUR responsibility in all this?

We must step softly, for our deeds are coming back to haunt us. And we must accept some responsibility and be careful to lead the way without destroying international relations and the security of the United States in the process.
Having some money left over for infrastructure, health care, education, Social Security and outdoor barbeques would be nice......
