<...specifically because execution of leaders is reminiscent of Bolshevik tactics and anarchists.
so? the Bolsheviks had a good idea that worked, the our enemies are using it. Just because some one you don't like employs a strategy is no reason no t to us eit yourself, especially when that strategy save your lif enad the well being of your contry.
The law banning execution is a good one. If the US - thw worlds superpower supports assassination we invite the same for our own President and leaders.
did you not see the coverage on TV? If Usama Bin Laden has a good strategy or plan to take out he president of the United States, do you think for a second he would not take it? The genie is out of the bottle with respect to regicide. Its going to be used against us, theres no reason not to use it to prevent it happening to us. Fight back or die.
For every nation which decides we are an enemy - can then justify killing our leaders and point to our own laws when we protest.
act of war - all is fair in war. It only makes sense when your way of life and well being is under the gun to fight back by killing those trying to do it to you. I would not apply it in any other circumstance then is defense of a country.
If and when we go after folks - it is done with an intent to capture and try them.
even this makes no sense, ther is no law outsid eour borders, so ther eis no poin t in enforceing it. When it come st owar, ther is only one rule 'protect yourself'. and by killing htese guys we protect ourselves from them coming back bigger and stronger.
This is a good law - and bin Laden may tempt one to make exceptions - but this would really hurt the US much more than help it!!!!
the worl d trade centers just came down, the center and hub of our economy. Ther will likely be worse things to come. EXPECT worse things to come. is that worth it not to assasinate the enemy?
