<While you lament the few and far between elements who talk about not retaliating for this atrocity, keep in mind it is they who are showing we still are a democracy and NOT a totalitarian society. While their views are certainly myopic, the fact that they can express them to begin with is a credit to our socieity and constitution. You, who so often claim our way of life is threatened should look at this not as a leftist attempt at totalitarianism but as an example of free expression, however idiotic, in a free society.

People are constantly assuming that just because I believe a person's opinion is idiotic and dead wrong, that I am claiming he should have no right to say it. This is, of course, idiotic and dead wrong.

I would be more impressed by the whole "freedom of expression" thing if the left felt the same way about conservative speech. On college campuses--Stanford in my personal experience--they regularly run conservative speakers off campus on a rail, steal and burn conservative newspapers, silence conservative faculty, and tear down signs and announcements related to conservative events.

They would do the same thing out in the "real world" if they thought they could get away with it.
