this won't simply be a military operation. In fact, military force might end up being the least used and least effective tactic against terrorism. We'll need to go after the money trail like Bush announced yesterday. We'll need to get countries to renounce their harboring or support of terrorism. Furthermore, we'll need more nations like Saudi Arabia to denounce terrorism as an affront to Islam. In addition, we'll need to step up humanitarian efforts for refugees to convince them we aren't their enemy. At the same time, military special forces operations can go after the actual terrorists. Sitting around a table and discussing grievances won't accomplish a thing other than giving their attacks legitimacy. Attacking the terrorists on multiple fronts will, and that's exactly what Bush is working to achieve. We could've bombed Kabul on Sept 11th had we wished. We didn't. This will be a long-term and multi-pronged effort.
