Not going for the shoot at the hip response and gathering international support for the imminent war is a very intelligent strategy. It has eased Muslim worries that retaliation would be arbitrary and we might respond with extreme (i.e., nuclear) force. The downside is that the Taliban and Bin Laden have had time to dig in and hide. Nonetheless, Bush has done the right thing so far but we need to act soon.

Coming out in favor of a palestinian state to solidify Arab support is a double edged sword. I think it was poorly timed as it made it seem as if the terrorist attack caused a change in our policy that was favorable to the terrorist position.

Overall however I give Bush and his team high marks.
