Re: The police have laid siege to the mass-murderer's house, and there is an exchange of fire . . .

The killer now has only two options with the police. Surrender, or go down in a blaze of glory. On the one hand, he’ll be alive. On the other, he will be unable to enjoy the martyrdom of his death.

Once we get through bin Laden's wall of mindless monkey-boys, all that will remain is the shrinking coward. All that will remain is Osama bin Laden's "faith" that the afterlife his lies have created is true. It’s possible, considering his background, but I don't think he does -- not to the core -- and I would very much prefer he be taken alive, kicking and screaming. It's good international politics to let your enemy’s people see their heroes true colors. Pain is survivable. Global humiliation is not.

And we can expect to see a number of bin Laden wannabes following his death/capture. These will be easy pickings by comparison, though, lacking the al Qaeda network, the drive, the backing of the original.

BTW, the hard stuff we do right away. The impossible ones might take a little longer, but they remain doable.
