Re: Yes, I do . . .

And this is supposed to change what?

It remains a fact that we were openly attacked on our home soil by operatives of the al Qaeda (“the Base”).

It remains a fact that we shall retaliate, and so we have.

It remains a fact that the United States has a formal declaration of war against terrorism with global reach, with subtext that we can walk into any nation that harbors global terrorists, where we can demand and receive these international criminals for trial -- and should that government refuse for any reason, please note that this remains a formal declaration of war.

It remains a fact that the al Qaeda is a terrorist organization with global reach and are, by this definition, a viable target.

How we got where we are today is interesting, but currently only an issue for history books. Where we are going from where we are is here and now, and we are going to work on the eradication of the threat (which includes “intent,” not merely “act”) of global (far reaching/beyond local borders/international, be it in strike capability, or in the receiving of supplies/funding) terrorism.

That the al Qaeda was responsible for the attacks of Sept 11 is no longer in question.

That Osama bin Laden is the founder and spiritual leader of the al Qaeda is no longer in question.

That the Taliban government is harboring a known terrorist and his global organization is no longer a question.

That we are at war with terrorism is no longer a question.

The president has been very clear in all his addresses on the al Qaeda issue. Now, what is your question?

Dan
