May I take your analogy one step futher?
What would happen if you took a "producer" and a "consumer" and placed both in the middle of the Sahara Desert. The "consumer" would be given $1 million and the "producer" would be given nothing but his wits.
My theory is that both would be saved by the "producer", but at the end of a week you would have one deamonized-evil-rich-capitalist-producer and one poor-cheated-consumer that could do nothing more than scream about injustce.
Of course its just a theory.
