What's the difference between what's likely and what's possible? I certainly don;t see any.
Also, our main problem as a species throughout history is thinking that other cultures will think just like we do. Show a man in the 1920's a cell phone from today, and he'll be astounded. Show a man from 21 BCE one, and he'll have no idea what to do with it. TB made a point; we're not exactly the most advanced bunch of hoolimongers.
Also, we keep getting different results as to the properties of light as the ages progress. Maybe it's not exactly what we think it is.
