What do you suppose would happen if we did stop for Ramadan?
Does anyone think the Taliban would use that month for fasting, prayer, and meditation? If so, then they're hopelessly naive. The Taliban would use that month to regroup, rearm, and to dig in. Virtually all of the bombing and preparation done to date would've been for nothing.
Iran and Iraq never stopped fighting in the 1980s for Ramadan. From what I've read, other Moslem nations have continued fighting during that month. It's patently absurd for us to consider doing so when they won't even do it themselves.
