More and more it appears to me that the problem is that most journalists and liberal politicians are convinced that we (the general public) are too stupid to avoid the "slipperly slope" of totalitarianism.
They are convinced that allowing pragmatic application of profiling would lead to total loss of freedom because us poor boobs could never know where to draw the line.
