If the Supreme Court can equate burning a flag to free speech...

then how is a political advertisement NOT free speech?

Suppose you belong to an interest group. For example, let's suppose it was the NAACP. Shortly before an election, you find that a candidate for office was a member of the KKK (and is not a Democrat like Byrd who is given a free pass on that one). Should you be allowed to publicize that fact within 60 days of an election? You wouldn't be able to under the new law.

For the record, it wouldn't matter if the interest group is the NRA, NAACP, ALCU, AARP, or perhaps a labor union (although they're trying to give them a special pass), individuals and organizations would not be allowed to express their opinions in advertisements within 30 days of a primary or 60 days of an election. How is that NOT a violation of the First Amendment?
