Europe in its arrogance likes to lecture us "simplistic" Americans on topics like foreign policy. Given their arrogance, you'd think they actually had a track record worth being arrogant about. That hardly seems the case.
Europe's "enlightened" foreign policies were the direct cause of two world wars in the last century. Those wars killed about 100 million people. The First World War was caused by a series of treaties so convuluted that the death of one obscure Archduke caused country after country to go to war. Sure sounds like good foreign policy to me, not. After the war, their policies also gave rise to totalitarian governments in Germany, Italy, and the Soviet Union that were responsible for tens of millions more deaths outside of war.
Here's but one example of Europe's "enlightened" foreign policy. Had they took a more "simplistic" approach when they could have, Hitler could've been stopped. But no, they in their sophisticated wisdom caved in time after time including giving away much of another country, without even the courtesy of asking them, too. That give away crippled Czechoslovakia's ability to defend themselves despite their army which was one of the best in Europe. That army could've been very useful in stopping Hitler in 1939 and 1940 when his forces overran most of Europe, including your country, in a matter of weeks.
So, tell me, where do Europeans get off lecturing Americans on foreign policy? Given their dismal track record, you'd think they'd learn a little humility (except the French, of course). Personally, I'm tired of being lectured to by the village idiots of foreign policy.
