Bush's disasterous budget.....

Once again, Bush is singing Johnny One Note, the theme song for the Republican party.

It starts with dipping into the SS Trust fund to the tune of $1.5 trillion and the Medicare Trust fund for $553. billion over the next 10 years, despite the imminent retirement of baby boomers.

Bush is making a lie of his Jan. State of the Union message as this budget does not create new jobs--it cuts several job training programs. He also cuts educational programs, environmental intitiatives, health care programs and services for low income working families.

This is a budget without any compassion or human warmth. Republicans continue to push for tax giveaways for special interests.

The budget surplus inherited from the Clinton administration is gone and Bush proposes a 1.5 billion deficit over 10 years.

The Budget Office confirms Bush's tax cut as being the largest factor in the $4 trillion disappearing surplus.

Bush is giving taxpayers an extra $1.1 trilliion interest debt on the public debt just because of Republican fiscal irresponsibility. Bush's proposal to make the tax cut permanent will drain and extra $394 billion over the next 10 years.

Last year the GOP budget resolution had $300 billion for prescription drug benefits and medicare reform. Now, Bush is calling for 1/3 cut on this. Bush is also attempting to cut $1.3 billion for other programs previously authorized under the 2002 Labor Health and Human Services and Education appropriations act.

It is all part of the Republican agenda to destroy public education, medicare and SS, and any other social program they can get their callous hands on.

Part of Bush's perfidy is cutting $85 million from children's hospitals and calling it "compassionate conservatism."

Other rapes of the nation include:
$1 billiion CDC, $686 million job training, $9 millions safety programs in OSHA, Safety and Health $28 million. A reduction in Highway funds of 29% will eliminate 161,000 jobs in just Florida. Bush is cutting the EPA budget by $ 286 million and placing a freeze on hiring for enforcement positions--quess Republicans need a pass on polution right?

Further cuts come in public housing 14.7% and Rural housing was cut $25 million.

All in all this Bush Republican budget is an attempt to destroy in place American social programs and enhance an aristocracy of wealth, further widening the divide in our society.

Shame on you, Mr. Bush.
