Re: Bush's disasterous budget...Same Old Song

Aieee! The Republicans are going to kill us all!!

You are so mired in the Robin Hood principle that you can't even see it.

...This is a budget without any compassion or human warmth. Republicans continue to push for tax giveaways for special interests.

I could be the most compassionate and generous bastard in the world if I had free access to the bank accounts of everyone in my city. If I could put 600 volts into the crotch of every politician who used the words "generous, compassionate, caring, charitable," or "kindhearted" in connection with passing out money forcibly carved from the lives and fortunes of others and then taking CREDIT for it, I would probably end up blacking out the Eastern seaboard, but it would be worth it.

"Tax giveaways", your phrase for letting someone actually KEEP more of their own money, shows your inherent view that all wealth is the property of the state, and whatever they let you keep is a "loss" to the state.

I won't go over the rest of this sack of lies one by one, since it's basically just a rehash of a Democratic National Committee press release anyway, and I'm not getting paid for this.

However, the actual budget documents can be found here for anyone who might have an actual interest in what the budget does say. Of course the Democrats are counting on nobody checking up on them.

Just one quick example: my reading of the budget shows the CDC funding going from 4.177 billion to $4.01 billion, hardly a billion-dollar cut, and that's with bioterrorism being carved off into its own category.

Remember, to a Democrat, ANY cut in spending is a disaster which will cause untold harm. However, any tax increases are something that citizens and businesses just have to adapt to and "manage somehow." The government somehow can never "just manage" a reduction in funds.
