Partly my own fault I guess...if I had bothered to shave that morning and worn a business suit perhaps I wouldn't have looked like an unsavory character! The security guards were very nice and professional however, especially after they noticed I spoke English without any hint of an accent. At least I was able to joke with my client Monday that my reports had already been inspected by the LAX security and found to be satisfactory!

In any case, anyone who thinks the airport 'random' checks are truly random is kidding themselves. But I have no problem whatsoever in being subject to a higher probability of special attention principally due to being a male and under 40.
