You expect anyone to say that building roads, drilling for oil, building pipelines and maintaining all the above is GOOD for the living material out there?? Even oilmen would laugh - all of 'em except Cheney, he doesn't have a sense of humor or he couldn't be that guy's Vice President. With the least bit of a sense of humor he'd be laughing all the time, and Bush needs to DEMAND loyalty, because he can't earn it. That's another story.

And, Tom, your comment on the 5 "fictional" scenarios. Since there is no drilling going on, what kind of scenario wouldn't be fictional? But usind the term "fictional" seems to lend an air of illegitimacy to the report. Good move, a little gimmick worthy of Goebbels, and you did slip it in there smoothly. Can't argue that they aren't "fictional". Those sneaky, duplicitious, untrustworthy scientists!!!

The only problem with it from an intellectual standpoint is that it is irrelevant and simply designed to prejudice people who may not be able to see it for what it is. Wouldn't bother some folks, would others.
