Just some guesses, but here goes...

The response to this action by Sharon will be a trade embargo and isolation, and given that the US would still support Israel, it probably won't work. Think South Africa...

(If you go back to my earlier posts you'll see that I hold oil stocks backed by non-mideast reserves. There will be large numbers of lower middle class folks in the US who will have their lives destroyed in the economic chaos, but as most likely they didn't vote for Bush Jr in the first place, that really doesn't matter, now does it? I guess they'll just be plenty of cheap labor available.)

In the meantime, there will be absolutely no support in any mid-eastern country for any attack on Saddam.

There will also be no support for further action against Al Qaeda, and additionally, Al Qaeda guerillas will gain some popular support in Afghanistan at least enough for guerilla warfare.

Next, Israeli representatives (and family memebers) living abroad will be targeted for assasination.

Any US citizen traveling anywhere in the world will be a target of opportunity, subject to attack at any time of isolation.

At some point, someone will get hold of the technology for weapons of mass destruction, and they'll use them against Israel. Delivery will not be by missile, but simple hand delivery.

These may be used against the US as well.
