Can someone answer a question for me? Why are leftists terrified about losses of "civil liberties" and freedoms, yet not only tolerate but enthusiastically support massive controls over every aspect of our economic lives?

If I want to say something on a street corner, or have sex with a chicken, the Left is in my corner, firmly defending me. However, when I start a business of any kind, the Left supports chaining me until I can hardly move. Since economic and productive activity is required for human survival, this doesn't leave much wiggle room.

This question has bothered me for years.
