Let the sun shine in.

D. S. And, one more time:

"We weren't happy with the fact that there was no military presence on the team."

Dan

I'm reading that to say "no military presence".

Now, Kofi Annan -

"Annan did not rule out adding additional experts if necessary.

On Monday, he named retired U.S. Maj Gen. William Nash as military adviser and Irish assistant police commissioner Peter Fitzgerald as police adviser."

Most folks would regard a retired American Major General as "military" and his being on the delegation a "military presence". Maybe not you, or the Israelis, but a lot of us would.

You're a bright guy, Dan. What is so hard to understand about that? I believe you don't understand it, I take you at your word. But just what about it makes it so hard? It was MONDAY these folks were announced.

There are forensic people, there are all manner of folks attached to this delegation. It ain't just three people, but then the Israelis know that.

Now, I realize that there are folks who will not believe anything that doesn't come from the mouth of Sharon. And I realize nothing will intrude on the virtual reality existing in their minds. No contest. That's the way it goes.

To those folks, every non-Israeli source which was on the ground in Jenin is suspect, because they tend to be Palestinian, and Colin Powell is believed because he says what people want to hear, not because he was there to see anything. He wasn't.

However, there are one or two people on this board who might evaluate information. And what is so hard to understand about an American retired Major General being considered by the UN as a "military" presence? Maybe the guy was Coast Guard - no, they follow Navy nomenclature. Maybe the guy is a retired Salvation Army Major General. That would answer it. Or maybe the guy is Southern, and Major General is a courtesy title, like "Colonel". That must be it. Thank God, I wasn't understanding you. Maybe the US Major General isn't "military".

Wow!!
