Frankly, I have a bank card that helps me not having to carry cash.
I also have a credit card that helps me pay my way through other countries and the internet.
And I have a Belgian ID card (+ an Amerecan passport).
Both the bank and the credit cards easily help locate my whereabouts, guess my spendings, understand my tastes, my habits, much much much much more efficiently than my ID card.
On the other hand, an ID card shows what country you are from.
