You reminded me of that new Onstar feature for cars, where the car is tracked from a service center and watched. Very carefully.

Kind of creeped me out when I saw some of the commercials. Particularly remote door unlock and air bag monitoring. Must make a lot of people feel safer, though.

Recommended reading on privacy vs. safety: "Oath of Fealty" by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.
