Ironically, Israel could do Arafat a big favor by stomping Hamas

Hamas is epecially strong in Gaza, and a strong move by Israel could cripple this terrorist organization. One of the revelations of the 100 pages of documents Israel recently released was not so much Arafat's direct involvement, direction, financing of terrorist bombings (though there is some evidence of that), but rather his growing impotence, and/or a complete lack of concern, when faced with strong evidence that Palestinian groups like Hamas are planning terrorist attacks. Arafat's power is waning and Hamas is growing. Israel could turn that around for Arafat. Despite his public condemnations which are sure to follow an Israeli reprisal attack in Gaza, privately Arafat and his supporters are probably delighted.

It's time for Israel to pull back from most settlements, build a wall, and say bye-bye to the Palestinians. And if they miss their jobs in Israel, let them go work in Jordan and Egypt, countries that 'support their rights'.
