PA Joe's was a superb restaurant and had a small but very classy lounge. I often stopped there on my way home from Printer's Inc on my bicycle, ordered a burger and knocked down a few.
The bar was famous because it was rumored reporters from Aviation Week and Space Technology would get juicy gossip after work on classified projects from the engineers that worked at Ford Aerospace.
My wife and I were introduced to Jill Tarter and Seth Shostak there one day by Charles Seeger (the radio astronomer), who I knew slightly. He was having dinner with them and invited us over.
As you probably know, the SETI Institute is in Mountain View.
