<"War" seems to excuse every Israeli action. And, the Palestinians are "terrorists".
There you go again. I said it “explains” actions, not condones them.
Let me try that again:
I said it “explains” actions, not condones them.
anyway, the Palestinians are losers of a war and have reverted to illegal terrorist action. Rather than admit to failure as a nation, they kill innocent children as POLICY.
Think about that for a while.
DS - "Until Palestine puts a stop to the war crimes they publicly, and privately, commit, yes."
Human shields, having civilians knock on doors in case they shoot through them is considered a war crime by every civilized nation. Destroying civilian property for the sake of depriving civilians of shelter is considered a war crime by civilized peoples. Emphasis - civilized.
No.
You were not there. I was not there. You assume the “shields” were not Palestinian combatants passing false information to get the Israeli troops killed. You assume the purpose of destroying homes is to deprive civilians of shelter, where it is clearly “claimed” to be depriving the Palestinian “military” (i.e., Hamas) from resources.
Tactics continue.
Now, who is chasing down the IDF folks who are doing this? Is there any outrage in your camp over these things? Or are these guys getting battle ribbons, "Valor", for these heroic acts?
Personally, and as I’ve said before, I couldn’t care less about Israel and Palestine. I’m physically tired of them both, but if you’re going to judge and execute a people from a distance, at least drop the emotional front so you can openly study war for the sociopolitical science that it is.
DS - "Well, Palestine is a global undesirable. I don’t think I would like the idea of the Hamas setting up camp in my neighborhood either."
Nice. All Italians are bad guys because the Mafia is predominately Italian. "Palestine is a global undesireable". But not the IDF? Not human shields, not destroying civilian property? Back to "civilized".
I did say “Hamas”, right? Wouldn’t want the Mafia moving in either, any more than I would want a gang of hooligans, or drug dealers moving in.
Work really hard and just figure that bit out.
DS - "What ethnic cleansing are you speaking of? Please specify."
"We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimeter of Eretz Israel.... Force is all they do or ever will understand. We shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours ... When we have settled the land, all the Arabs will be able to do will be to scurry around like drugged roaches in a bottle." -- Israeli Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan (Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 4/13/83, NYTimes 4/14/83)
"... we have no solution, that you shall continue to live like dogs, and whoever wants to can leave -- and we will see where this process leads? In five years we may have 200,000 less people -- and that is a matter of enorous importance." -- Moshe Dayan encouraging the transfer of Gaza strip refugees to Jordan quoted in Nur Masalha's A Land Without A People, 1997 p.92).
That ethnic cleansing. Almost like the Holocaust, isn't it. Moshe Dayan can't be dismissed as a powerless "extremist", can he?
Your guys stink. So do "my guys", but we know that. And, they aren't into ethnic cleansing. With anyone justifying it.
Nice opening “tidbits”. Nice closing “rant”. Got anything in “context”?
I can recall a certain Alec Baldwin carrying such a rant on a national TV talk show, calling to his benighted fans to kill a certain U.S. politician, but he’s not locked up, and still making money. Was there a crime committed then?
I think there was, and a very serious one, but one Hollywood quickly swept under the carpet as a “fantasy joke” and a “real life outtake”.
Regardless, words do not equal action. “I will kill you all!” does not equal “I have killed them all!”, any more than it would equal “I am killing them all, now!” Where is this supposed ethnic cleansing taking place? Where are the death camps?
Palestine lost their war. I think it’s time somebody told them. That would be the “noble” thing to do, but the world would consider such a political statement to be “rude” -- and so the deaths continue, sanctioned, of course, by that same world. You know the world, right? The one that really doesn’t care what happens to either side -- the one hoping upon hope they’ll either figure it out on their own or kill each other off in the process?
They did want to get rid of Israel. After all, it was their place until the UN took it away.
Realizing this should make the UN the enemy of Palestine, not Israel, casting Israel as an obvious puppet to the global-controlling strings of the mighty UN.
I can understand the mentality of the folks who took out the Native Americans. Sign treaties, move in on 'em. If they complain, slaughter 'em. Frankly, if I had to choose between Custer and Chief Joseph, I'd choose Chief Joseph. I wouldn't be in bed with Custer.
Of course not. Custer was mad. I would want as little to do with him as possible, but that would be a matter of self-preservation. From a hilltop, I could have picked him off very easily, but at the time that would have been considered a heinous crime.
The sad thing is what Israeli propaganda has done to the mentalities of nice, decent folks, both there and here.
Gee, thanks.
Not nice. But, maybe it's "war".
Yes. Propaganda is war, just as terrorism is.
You see, “terrorism” is a political term today, whereas it used to be simply military. It was tactics, nothing more. Terrorizing your enemy is what guerrilla warfare is. Civilians hear the word “terrorism” and immediately think “war crime”, when all you’re really doing is trying to stay alive in that dusty, burnt-out field your colonel put you in. No crime is committed on either side, because it’s open combat and the bullets are flying -- unless all you want to hear is the word “terrorism”.
It’s tactics, and there is a line to be crossed before terrorism becomes a crime. Killing children because they’re attending a friend’s bat mitzvah is, I would think, far to the wrong side of this line -- but you seem to keep coming back to the idea of equating this action to the leveling of a few rebel houses.
You’re not even close,
Dan
