Actually, the former Yugoslavia is the cradle of war and atrocity. My fundamental basis for saying this is the historic assassination of foreigners, or anyone really, who are perceived to be interfering in domestic politics or standing in the way of extremist group's agendas. World War I was started by a terrorist group in the region called "The Black Hand", who assassinated Archduke Ferdinand. The evil spread west into bordering Germany where xenophobia exploded, causing World War II and millions of deaths. I believe there is a former president from the region (cant think of his name at the moment) who is currently on trial in The Hague for genocide.

It'd be good to get to the bottom of this problem, as there is a history of this sort of thing there.
