What's really dangerous is the conflict between India and Pakistan.
India, the largest democracy in the world (and that matters) has the nuclear weapon, but won't likely use it against Pakistan (at least in the begining); however, Pakistan, not a democracy, might very well be tempted first, to use its nuclear arsenal. And we have to count on them for the war against Al Qaeda.
I can't imagine western democracies rejecting (siding against) India, just because they need Pakistan so much.
France has recalled all the unnecessary personel from Pakistan.
Political analysts fear that the positive opinion the western world has towards Pakistan, so far, might encourage them to strike India, knowing there won't be reactions against this.
