Re: Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan are not the threat, but....

Raoul,

I view matters a little differently...... India is siezieing the post 9/11 anti-muslim mindset to (perhaps for good and all) finish off it's Palestinian foe....... Let us not forget that while a democracy it may be... it is one that chose a "Racist" partyy ( The BNJ ) as it's government.... and it's a country in which 2,000 muslims were slaughtered in thier own streets and homes with ( According to independant observors)..... State government connivance, just a few months ago.

IS the Pakistani government responsible, behind, or supportive of those armed groups causeing mayhem in the Kashmir?

I have no doubt they are.

But Kashmir IS a Muslim state........... it should have gone to Pakistan at partition.......... most observors believe that if the people of Kashmir were allowed a referundum ( Which India refuses to hold) they would vote to join Pakistan.

The reasons why Kashmir is in India and not Pakistan are complex, and reflect no credit whatsoever on the British government of the day that drew up the borders:(

The whole thing is a disgusting and frightening mess...made extremely
dangerous by the fact both sides now have nuclear weapons.

This is one crisis where we had all better get deeply involved real quick..........otherwise we'll be able to admire lovely twinkling sunsets for years to come.

Niether side is sane enough not to use nuclear weapons if they fear they are about to lose big time in any up-coming war.
