Another pile.

"If there is any luck involved, it is the luck I had to be born here, where I at least had a chance. The rest was up to me."

That's part of the fairness. Have you ever been to a country where a kid had to work to contribute to the family welfare, couldn't go to school, didn't have schools to go to?

(Now, I know enough of you to be aware you're a nice guy, who has a couple of tangents you wander down occasionally. The difference between you and me is that I'm possibly not a nice guy, and have more tangents I wander down.)

You seem to be sneering at the people who weren't born here. Read your post. You sneer at them, or if you were, that's what it would look like.

A kid born elsewhere didn't have anything to say about the government, couldn't accumulate enough money to buy a book, let alone passage to a land which wouldn't let him in?

Couldn't buy an anti-biotic to save his life. Couldn't get the money.

Do you think you are a smarter, harder-working, more noble person? I promise you've never seen work like they do, you've never seen scrambling like they have to. And they are as smart if not smarter than you and me.

What did you have to do with the system into which you were born? Nothing. They didn't either, and that's what is not fair. Thank God.

You keep touting that system, and somehow you seem to resent having to pay for it.

You somehow think it should be given to you, so that you and your hard work can prosper without interference (paying for the system). Kind of like wanting a car, but not wanting to pay for the roads and fuel. Or the car.

(They just build roads to places you don't want to go, anyway. Why should you pay for that!!! They confiscate your money to build off-ramps you will never use. Not only that, they build off-ramps to places no one should go. I want to pay for the section of road underneath my wheels and nothing else. Nothing else is relevant. It ain't fair!)

No, T. B., on a global scale you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, and seem to be looking down on the peasants saying,

"If they don't like it there, why don't they just get born as a Prince?"

As another lady with the same attitude said, "Let 'em eat cake!"

Life ain't fair. And you and I, for two, are lucky it isn't. Because neither of us is smarter, harder working, or more deserving than many people who are starving.
