I don't think the term "strong" is appropriate here. "Conservative" is more to the point.
Hillary Clinton is "strong", like I mean she puts Hulk Hogan in the dust....but she seems to enjoy tremendous esteem from the entertainment industry and other hotbeds of liberal dillusion.
Maggie Thatcher was scorned by the left as well, but no woman ever commanded more respect from clear thinking individuals. Jean Kirkpatrick, President Reagan's watchdog at the U.N., in my opinion, would make a fine President, but she fared poorly in polls.
I think you're making an issue of gender where it should be on ideaology.
