Islam doesn't fit my definition of a cult.
They lack the single charismatic leader of a cult (for example a Charlie Manson or the Rev. Sung Young Moon)
And they have never accosted me in an airport or at a Rock Concert in an attempt to procure a donation to support their cause.
The only thing they appear to have in common with a cult is that they see themselves as followers of the “one true religion” and the rest of us are outsiders who don’t get it and hence need to be either converted or subverted.
I'm sure there are sects within Islam that are in fact "Cults" as there are in just about any religion, but I wouln't call the religion in its entirety a "Cult"
