Re: Oriana Fallaci

<Oriana Fallaci wrote her pamplet from NY after 9/11.
Her book is sold all over Europe.
It's an extremely controversial book.
Oriana is known to have wrote against the Vietnam war, against wars in general (she was a war correspondent).
BTW, she also made a bet (500$) with Pete Conrad that he would never say "it was a giant leap for Neal but a short one for a small guy like me(while stepping on the Moon). He won the bet but never got paid.
Oriana's book has not been censored in France (yet) because it appears to incite into fierce debates about how to react towards the book and its content.
She is a leftist and will freely admit it; she speaks her mind, might reveal some truths.
But those who are the MOST hurt by the book are the moderate Muslims, the very same Muslims who ARE victims of the islamists (like in Algeria).
The league against racism and antisemitism in France says the book is extremely offensive towards Muslims who wish to live peacefully in Europe (and enjoy democracy in our countries). It's absurd and dangerous to pretend they immigrate here to overthrow democracies and create Islamist states instead.
This kind of discourse is the same as her enemies'.
The extremes feed from each other; we see that in the Israel v Palestine issue.
If ever peace will impose itself in the area, it will have to be initiated by liberals from both sides; let's hope they still are there.
