Yeah, we heard this argument in California too, only they were talking about benighted parents deciding to send their kids to schools that teach Wicca.

Would you send your kids to a fundamentalist school? Then why do you assume most other parents would be stupid enough to? Some parents are going to teach their kids crap. Most kids will grow out of it, some won't. Unless we decide that the State is going to be the official "parent," there's no way around this (and if you don't think the State is teaching your kids crap already, you haven't been reading my posts.)

Even the most insightful, intelligent liberals can't seem to get past the basic feeling that most people are stupid, and need to be "forced" into the proper actions.
