I personally don't thing RAWA is going to make much real impact on Afghanistan. While women there don't want to be beaten routinely and executed on a whim, and probably wouldn't mind learning to read, I don't think you're going to catch them at a performance of "The Vagina Monologues" any time soon, or carrying signs down the street topless.

And yes, the vile treatment of women under the Taliban was a perfectly good reason for opposing the Taliban, and conservatives and the Bush administration certainly agreed with that. Still doesn't put them in a position of shoving left-wing feminism down Afghanistan's throat.
