This vague, ambiguous "Precautionary Principle"

appears to be simply a ruse for allowing politically motivated, pseudo-science, or the total lack of science, to guide the decision making in the arena of biotechnology. It's exactly what one critic claimed concerning the invention of fire - if it had it go through the same extreme scrunity and risk assessment, we may have all decided to eat our food raw.

The truth is that American supermarket shelves are chock full of GM foods and have been for years. If there was any truth at all to the wild claims of irrational environmental extremists about the supposed dangers of the bogeyman GM foods, it would have shown up a long time ago in statistically significant health differences, morbidity and mortality rates between Americans and Europeans (and don't point to obesity, that has absolutely nothing to do with GM or non-GM foods).
