Re: Ri-i-ight . . .

Your solution to anything that violates your sensitivities seems to be a broad squeegee. The lazy/ignorant man's answer to an empty gas tank is a new car (recalling the Rolls Royce I saw rotting away in a Saudi Arabian dune -- then again, maybe the tires got dirty...).

Who was it again that disagreed with me before, when I said that third world immigrants were causing a crime wave throughout Europe?

Matters not, for the same could be said of Sicilians and the Mafia. Your logic implies the eradication of all Sicilians, and my folks wouldn’t exactly go for that. You see, some of my best relatives are Sicilian.

It also implies the eradication of ethnic gang members, no matter who they happen to be, no matter what they may have, or may not have, done, and no matter what they have done to contribute to a supposed crime-wave, or -- dare I say it? -- to actually halt a supposed crime-wave (been there, done that).

It seems like they're so guilty about the holocaust that they want to commit one against their own people as a way of making it up.

If this is what the majority of voters want, who are we to say it is wrong?

Simply put, crime doesn’t pay. It doesn’t sleep, either. The solution for Europe’s problems are an improved law enforcement agency. What I prefer is a solid work-ethic, and the direct application of real human talent, which would be permitted to surgically pick the troublemakers from the public’s midst -- even if the troublemakers are voted into office, and even if the troublemakers are functioning as law enforcers. Nobody above the law.

And, like it or not, a very HUGE majority of Americans are of immigrant stock. North America has been referred to time and again as a melting pot for humanity. A poor choice in term, but accurate. Melting implied layers of cultures, and that is exactly what we have. What I would prefer is a smelting pot, where the particles of cultures are allowed to intermingle across the land, settling where the laws of community allow, where individuals may, once again, actually be allowed to choose who their friends are, instead of the media doing it for us.

These ideas are imperfect, as cultures tend to naturally gravitate toward similar cultures as a path of least resistance, but I would prefer nudging integration, rather than pounding it into place -- and the ideas are a lot more costly than the genocidal tact one might prefer, but hey, I get sorta misty-eyed when my vote is responsible for stuff like that.
