On the one hand, sex outside of marriage is a crime that can be punished by death under Islamic law, as in the case of the Nigerian woman sentened this week to death by stoning for having a child out of wedlock.

On the other hand, these men seem to think that their rape victims had it coming. How can they reconcile rape with the prohibition of sex outside of marriage? From what I've read, it isn't just non-Moslem women who have to worry about rape from Islamic men, either. It appears that rape happens quite often to Islamic women who happen to have the misfortune to be caught outside alone.

How's this for an idea - when an Islamic man rapes a woman, apply Islamic law to him. Flog him. Stone him or cut off his head. At the very least, rapists should be "disarmed."
