God knows what really happened, if anything. While the facts are attributed to Palestinian sources, the writers are Israeli. There are various descriptions, a teenager, a mother of seven, etc. The authors must be considered, and Israeli propaganda is pretty thick.

To believe that story on it's face is a bit difficult. No one is going to just pick out someone, torture them until they say something, and then execute a third party just for the hell of it. But it makes for a good story to say that.

However, under the best of circumstances a rat, collaborator, spy, narc, fink, or whatever you want to call 'em, has a hard time. No matter whose side they are on.

In a war, struggling against an occupying power, with people dying, a rat has an even more difficult time. While one sides' rat is the other sides hero or heroine, that still makes 'em a rat to their own side.

Goes for the US, Mafia, Israel, Palestine, Russia, just about anyone.
