Re: Terrorist Action

Yes. But whoen you are not afraid of dying - what limit is there to the crazy schemes?

The Secret Service has always told the President that they can't assure his security - especially against an attacker willing to kill himself in the attack.

They act as a deterrance against a rational foe.

Suicidal maniacs are not rational and so it is hard to think what they will or will not do - yet that is exactly what the world's think-tanks are attempting to do.

Water supplies?
Chemical attack?
Nuclear plants?
Food?
Landmarks?
Banks?
Centers of Government?
Leaders?
Stockmarkets?

The list goes on and on.....and on...

It's a nightmare. The cheap attacks are looked at first. Crop planes being filled with nerve agents were looked at, bridges and bombs in public places, Rental trucks filled with explosives rammed through a government installation. (A middle-eastern favorite)

Suicidal maniacs are not easy to predict or defend against.

It's a tough one to predict. Europe is more vulnerable to middle easterners rising up and attacking infrastructure and naturally that's why we are not surprised about the public condemnation of the plans of the US to oust Saddam.

Everyone is covering their own derrieres.
