What just happened in Afghanistan shows how dangerous the place is.
It will happen again and again and Karzai must be protected.

Now, let's imagine the US does invade Iraq: Saddam might just go hiding and he'll be as difficult to find as OBL is today.
A pro-western politician is brought up to lead the country....He'll be under threat of a terrorist attack as well! If the successor is eliminated, then what? A new regime leads the country; a non-democratic one...maybe not a pro US one.....

When I think Russia's interest is in Saddam staying in power because it's his regime that owes a big amount of money to Russia.

Really a messy situation; Pandora's box should not be opened.
