Honest.
Rice was expecting someone to come along with exact details, and hand 'em to her?
There was a drumbeat, a consistent, logical drumbeat of warnings. Many of them came from WITHIN the FBI (from their own troops). And still they slept. In the real world, they had the best notifications they could expect. From foreign leaders, from the Taliban, from their own people, from citizens.
And TIPS - IF THEY DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE ENEMY, FOREIGN LEADERS, FBI AGENTS, FLIGHT SCHOOL INSTRUCTORS, they will just say that TIPS provided even more information which clogged their systems.
(Rice - "I didn't think they were worth following up!" There's your sentry. Someone suggest she rise and shine, "Up and at 'em, Condaleeza. You're cashing your paychecks. The old wake me when it happens and I'll wring my hands is getting old.")
Just what sorts of warnings would they pay attention to?
What do they expect?
What happened to accountability?
I can't help but agree that maybe the Republicans did the best they could. And look what we got. Pure, unadulterated incompetence, which shifted to warning the US every weekend about everything in the air, on land and in the sea. More incompetence.
Arf (We'd expect more, much more, from a Democratic regime. This board would be pillorying them, as you guys know they could do better. The Rs can't, apparently.)

There's a real world out there.
