So, Rice and company receive a warning to the effect of "Osama bin Laden was planning a huge attack on American soil" and they're supposed to know where and when the attack will take place?
Let's see, according to this source, the US has 3,618,770 square miles of territory including Alaska and Hawaii. According to the Coast Guard, there are over 90,000 miles of shoreline. There are thousands of airline flights every day. There are thousands of shipping containers that arrive in our ports every day. In addition, there are some 250-270 million people in the US depending on whose numbers you read, and among them were 19 terrorists (not known at the time) bent on carrying out the attack. Rice and company are supposed to hear something as vague and essentially meanless as "Osama bin Laden was planning a huge attack on American soil" and be able to narrow that down? Are you nuts?
I can tell you this - whatever remains of OBL's terrorist network is bent on carrying out another attack on the United States. No doubt other terrorists groups are as well. That's a virtual certainty. Now, what do the authorities need to do to stop that attack? Be specific. My warning is just as informative as "Osama bin Laden was planning a huge attack on American soil", so I expect you to be able to come up with definitive threats and countermeasures. If you can't, then you're no better at predicting the future than Rice and company. It'd be nice if you admitted it.
