That's particularly insidious.

"Kitchen table issues"??!!

The alliteration is a drumbeat. The implications are treasonous. The content is cleverly crafted to conceal the hate and discontent the phrase is meant to incite.

Gotta hand it to those rascally liberals. They do know how to use the language. (Isn't that a measure of intelligence - I mean, all other things equal one should be able to articulate their ideas within their native language, QED liberals?)

Seriously, what's the problem? There's gotta be more to this than meets the eye. How is this a threat, unless conservatives think discussing anything is a threat?

Is that it? Or is it "issues". There should be no "issues", no discussing. Listen to Bush and Rush and it's over, that settles it, like for conservatives? "Bush (or Rush) said it, I believe it, that settles it" sort of thing? Works for "dittoheads". "Issues" are by definition dangerous?

Is it that "kitchen table" implies the rabble? It isn't "dining room" or "private dining room" table? It isn't "back room at "La Auberge" or "La Petit Fleur" on a taxpayer-subsidized meal?

"Table"? Maybe that implies a level surface, where things are fair. THAT definitely isn't in the conservative mode. I mean, if you can't trade, what's the purpose of being an insider?

The more I think about it, the more it seems "kitchen table issues" would be a threat to conservatives. You're right.
