Plus Mandela, Kofi Annan, and other "UN approved only" people are jealous and scared. Jealous of the awesome power and might the USA possesses, and scared that the UN might be shown to be impotent and irrelevant. Better to let the Iraqis continue to suffer in misery under Saddam than to allow that to happen. (At least the Iraqi exiles understand and approve of US military action)

I'll readily admit that it's not a good thing that the US takes unilateral military action to overthrow Saddam Hussein without explicit UN approval.

But what's far more regrettable is that the international community would stand by and do nothing while a man as evil and as dangerous as Saddam Hussein pursues the development of nuclear weapons. If the UN can't take or authorize firm action to prevent a person like Saddam Hussein from obtaining Nuclear weaopns, then I'm sorry to say it but the UN isn't worth a damn. To hell with them. On with the war. Maybe there'll be something constructive for the UN to do afterwards...
