In another post I commented that if I were Prez of the US, I'd probably be looking for a way to avoid war.

But I were Saddam, I'd really, *really* be looking for a way to avoid another war.

Reading them over, the UN demands don't seem all that terrible. Iraq won't get their nukes, and will have to give up their bio and chemical weapons...but then, there's more to life than WMD!

It seems to me Saddam's got a way out of this that isn't completely unreasonable. Let the inspector's back in. Get rid of the weapons, for real this time. Quit hiding them behind his back like a small child that took an extra cookie. Spare Iraq yet another ruinous war, and work (ie cooperate in good faith) with the UN to get sanctions lifted. Allow his disasterous dream of pan-Arab leadership to fade. That's one crown he just ain't gonna get.
