I thought Usama's objectives were:
1. Get the West to quit meddling in Middle Eastern Affairs
2. Remove US Troops from Saudi Soil
3. Unite the Arab World
4. Destroy Israel
5. Obtain nuclear weapons
6. Show the rest of the world that Islam is the one true religion.
7. Overthrow the Government of Saudi Arabia and name himself King Bin Ladin
8. Get Americans and Europeans cowering in their basements in fear.
9. Enrich Usama with all that oil revenue
On all of these he is a complete total and complete failure. No if's, an's, or but's about it.
So I guess weather he is a success or not depends on how we define his objectives.
So if his is objective is:
1. To be a royal pain in the ass
2. Kill thousands of innocent civilians for no reason (see list of failures above)
3. Distort the teachings of Islam
4. Strengthen the American presence in the Middle East
5. Encourage a "Cowboy President" to rise to the occasion and show the entire world that he may be one of the greatest American statesmen to ever live
6. Weaken other "world leaders" who pale in comparison to the "Cowboy": a Cowboy who clearly shows those "leaders" inept weakness by his stature and his willingness to take a stand while they duck for cover and shades of gray to the point where they cannot even call Sadam Hussain to task.
6. Force leaders from all over the world to confront the president's question: "You're either with us or against us" (and they really hate to be put on the spot like that...)
7. Get Sadam Hussain to the brink of being overthrown
8. Get the Taliban thrown out of Afghanistan
9. Hand the Israeli’s a perfect opportunity to crush the intifada
10. Throw the Palestinian leadership into a spiral of self-destruction
11. Get thousands of Al Queda warriors killed and imprisoned through-out the world
12. And then die in an unmarked cave...
Then Ossama is a great success and one which all Muslims should emulate.
The United States and the Allies against Terror are winning the war in a big way. I'm damn proud to be on the winning side. And nobody better diss that Cowboy.

Not a chance. No way you could say Bin Ladin is winning.
