American forces were INSIDE Iraq already. There was nothing militarily to stop us from rolling into Bagdad. There were some valid reasons for stopping when we did, like the coalition unravelling, but to say Bush would or even could have been impeached is a joke.

Bush the first also mucked up by ignoring signals from a number of Iraqi generals at the end of the war who would have deposed Saddam had they received the right encouragement from the US. When Bush ended the war he declared a hands off policy based on fear the Shiites would take over, thus implicitly allowing SH to remain in power.
